A chest x-ray is an imaging technique used to diagnose disease or trauma. The image is obtained by electromagnetic radiation and allows the heart, lungs and rib cage to be analysed. This analysis makes it possible to rule out or identify a heart attack or decompensation, a lung infection or a pneumothorax. The image quality depends on the patient's position, the orientation of the plate and the light contrasts.
It is indicated in case of:
• Chest pain
• Persistent cough and fever
• Breathing difficulties
Duration of hospital stay
1 to 2 days.
The patient will be able to go home after the x-ray.

The x-ray machine consists of an articulated arm with an x-ray tube and a plate containing the film.
A radiologist performs this examination.
Before the examination, the patient will go to the cloakroom to undress.
During the examination, the patient will be between the x-ray tube and the plate containing the film, with the chest against the plate and the arms raised. While taking the pictures, inflate the lungs and block breathing. Two shots will be taken: one from the front and the other from the side.
The examination lasts between 10 and 20 minutes. It is a very quick exam.
The radiologist will give you a first comment. It is a totally painless test.
No preparation is necessary.
You don't have to fast. You can eat and drink normally.

Coronary bypass surgery is a surgical procedure that treats the coronary arteries, those that supply the heart, when they are blocked: this is called coronary stenosis.
A pacemaker is a small box, containing electronic circuits powered by a battery. It is connected to the heart by one, two or three probes depending on the case.
Angioplasty is a surgical procedure to dilate a coronary artery. The purpose of angioplasty is to restore blood circulation following arterial occlusion.
Cardiac valve replacement surgery consists of replacing a non-functional heart valve with a mechanical or biological valve. It is usually the aortic valve that is affected.
Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is also called biventricular pacing. It is necessary when the electrical impulses controlling the contraction and relaxation of the heart muscle circulate slowly or irregularly in your heart.
