Clinic Les Alpes

Montreux, Suisse, Europe

Clinic Les Alpes is the result of a ten-year journey of restoration and creation that reached its peak with the official opening in 2018

Description

The original building has been completely restored to make the most of the outstanding environment and to foster lasting recovery from all types of addictions and co-existing psychiatric disorders such as burnout, depression, eating disorders and more.

Clinic Les Alpes offers private rehabilitation to people with substance and behavioural addictions and families affected by addiction. True to Swiss values, the clinic is based upon discretion, confidentiality, authenticity and excellence.

Clinic Les Alpes is a fully licensed, in-patient Swiss medical facility, with doctors, counsellors, nurses and medical personnel on duty and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure that the patient receives the best possible care.

Their international multidisciplinary team always has the patient’s best interest at heart and puts everything in place to create the right conditions to embrace recovery, from the counselling staff to the housekeeping members. Treatment is primarily in English, but can be in other languages, as well: French, Spanish, Russian and Italian.

A holistic approach

Clinic Les Alpes’ holistic approach continuously focuses on the interplay between the mind, body and spirit. This means that the patient is considered as the unique individual he is and that his whole life context, co-existing issues and other disorders will be addressed and taken care of. Stepping into recovery requires courage and implies a profound personal work on all aspects of life. This is why the clinic also helps their patients with other areas addiction has affected, such as sleep hygiene, nutrition, dental health, stress management, and more.

A Safe Container

Clinic Les Alpes offers a safe environment to experience abstinence. Helped with judicious medication determined by medical necessity, the staff will accompany the patient through detoxification and his first steps into sober life.

Abstaining from addictive substances or behaviours is the starting point of treatment. It is the entrance to the patient’s true inner self, a way to unveil the person addiction has buried. Abstinence is not only about not doing something; it is about giving space to actively practice recovery.

Staff will help the patient through this experience as they understand that it might be source of fear and anxiety.

Staff:

Clinic Les Alpes’ personnel members work as one team across all aspects of the service.

The treatment team comprises both medical and therapeutic practitioners recruited for their recognised expertise combined with the very human qualities of empathy and compassion. They all have strong experience in the psychiatry and addiction fields that guide their everyday practice to take the best care of their patients.

Apart from being required to have the experience and skills essential for their particular roles, hired people are able to embrace and exemplify the values and standards espoused by Clinic Les Alpes.

All staff are multilingual and either natural or fluent English speakers.

The team:

Dr. Willis

  • Dr. Willis is the main psychiatrist and Medical Director of Clinic Les Alpes. He is a certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist from the University of Lausanne. He has been responsible for two out-patient general psychiatry units for years in Switzerland and a member of the League for the prevention of substance abuse. He supervised two “hard-drug” substance abuse centres and a third centre using a modified form of the Alcoholics Anonymous’ 12 step program for alcohol, marijuana and addiction to prescribed medications. He continued his way by becoming an associate doctor of an inpatient clinic where he practiced general psychiatry for English speaking patients and lead group therapy using the Minnesota method and self-hypnosis techniques in the clinic’s substance abuse unit. Dr. Willis’ role of Medical Director at the Clinic Les Alpes is the culmination of his professional aspirations and personal vocation. Helping people and their families in the domain of addiction is a pursuit he truly enjoys and shall endeavour to continually perfect at Clinic Les Alpes.

Dr. Helleisen François

  • Dr. Helleisen is the general practitioner of Clinic Les Alpes. He is a specialist in general medicine, certified in medical dietetics, and a member of the Swiss Society of Micronutrition. With 25 years of experience in general medicine in private clinics, hospitals and private practices in France and Switzerland, he specialized in the field of nutrition and micronutrition. Knowing that dependency on a product (alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, opioids, benzodiazepines or cocaine) is accompanied by nutritional deficiencies or even neurotoxic and carcinogenic complications, he proposes medical care as well as personalized and adapted nutritional support.
